John Wagner, Creator of Maxine

Maxine with her short one liner jokes has always been a favorite and the way she looks is perfect and her name fits her image.  

Saucered And Blowed presents John Wagner, the creator of Maxine, who as a toddler demonstrated his ability in the artistic realm.  John's endeavors were encouraged by his family, who were also the inspiration of the Maxine character.

John's creative talents were exhibited in 1986 when Hallmark introduced the Shoebox Greetings and Maxine, the crabby old lady was brought into existence.  The Shoebox team held a contest to name her and John chose the name Maxine as being perfect for her image.
